The town of Saumur
The first view of Saumur is the view of the overlooking Château.
Built during on the XIVth century for the Ducs d’Anjou, it becomes the house of the governors of the town, then a jail, before being bought by the town in 1906.
The town of Saumur is very pleasant (there are about 30,000 inhabitants). It is an attractive and touristical area, and each year many French people and many foreigners are coming to saumur for vacation.
During summer, you can enjoy a lot of exhibitions. You can visit the center by foot, across half pedestrian streets. At Saint-Pierre square, you can admire ancient houses.
